Performance and Efficiency
The 2022 Subaru Ascent comes equipped with Subaru's famous BOXER engine. The 2.4-liter turbocharged engine produces 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a high-torque Lineartronic continuously variable transmission with an 8-speed manual mode with paddle shifters. As you may have expected, the Subaru Ascent comes standard with Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel drive, but also comes with X-MODE drive select and Hill Descent Control. This powertrain gives the Subaru Ascent a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds and it comes standard with Trailer Stability Assist. The 2022 Subaru Ascent is not only powerful and capable, but very fuel efficient for a full-sized SUV. The new Ascent is rated at 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, with a fuel range of over 500 miles on a single tank.
All-New Onyx Edition
The 2022 Subaru Ascent will feature an all-new Onyx Edition trim level. This trim level starts at $37,995 and comes with unique trim-specific styling, performance, and features. The Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition comes configured as a 7-seat Premium trim, with added reverse automatic braking, power rear lift gate, heated steering wheel, and keyless entry with push-button start. The Onyx Edition is equipped with an exclusive black exterior with Onyx badges and 20-inch wheels. The interior seating is wrapped in Subaru’s water-repellant StarTex material, making the seats more durable and easy to clean after going off-road on adventures. The Onyx Edition is built for those who want a vehicle capable of taking the kids to school, but also taking the family on an off-road adventure with aggressive styling.
