Enhanced Exterior Styling
If you're familiar with the 2022 Subaru Ascent, you will likely immediately notice the newly updated exterior look of the 2023 model. The 2023 Subaru Ascent features a new, bolder front end underpinned by a more prominent grille, a more aggressive bumper cover, and redesigned headlights. The bumper cover features massive air ducts that improve the car's aerodynamics, allowing air to rush under the car to increase downforce for road stability. At the rear, Subaru updated the C-shaped Konoji taillights to distinguish the 2023 Ascent's new look. Subaru released the 2023 Ascent in six trims to offer shoppers various options to suit different wants and needs. These trim levels include Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Onyx Edition Limited, Limited, and Touring. The 2023 Subaru Ascent with start with a base price of $33,895.
Sufficient Engine Power for Track and Off-Road Rides
Like the 2023 Subaru BRZ, the incoming Subaru Ascent packs a 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine, which delivers 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated with a high-torque Lineartronic® CVT (continuous variable transmission) that also comes with an 8-speed manual mode and steering wheel paddle shifters for added gear-shifting convenience. Do you need to tow a trailer on your adventures? The Ascent has you covered with a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs. with standard Trailer Stability Assist. You'll also find Subaru's legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and X-MODE® with Hill Descent Control that enables the car to conquer any weather or road conditions. The Ascent also has excellent fuel economy for a full-sized SUV, with 20 mpg (city) and 26 mpg (highway), and it also delivers over 500 miles of range on a single tank.
Updated Safety and Technology
Standard to the 2023 Ascent is the latest EyeSight Driver Assist Technology that includes all the latest, industry leading driver-assist safety features. Features like Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Detection will now receive Automatic Emergency Steering that works together with the EyeSight Pre-Collision Braking to help prevent collisions, especially when traveling at speeds below 50 mph. The new EyeSight system comes with updated control software, a wider field of view, and an electric brake booster system.
Moreover, Subaru added a new Cabin Connect feature to ensure easier and clearer communications between the driver and passengers in the third row. There's also a new convenience package, although that's only available for models with Harman Kardon® QuantumLogic speaker system. While the Ascent's infotainment system lacks the intuitive controls and customization settings seen in premier competitors, it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The standard 11-6-inch infotainment touchscreen comes with visible and highly responsive icons for quick inputs.
The New Onyx Limited Trim
Priced at $41,295, the new Onyx Edition comes with an exclusive Black package that features black-finish exterior accents, Subaru badging, and 20-inch high-strength alloy wheels. Enter the interior and you'll find seats wrapped in Subaru StarTex® water-resistant fabric for enhanced longevity and easy maintenance. The 7-passenger Onyx trim also adds standard convenience features, such as Dual-Function X-MODE, LED fog lights, Heated Steering Wheel, cargo cover, and a panoramic moonroof.
