That's why the exterior now sports a more aggressive front fascia featuring a redesigned bumper, a more prominent front grille, and LED fog lights. Models that are equipped with Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert will also have EyeSight® Automatic Emergency Steering which helps to avoid collisions with obstacles when driving at speeds under 50 mph. Other safety features include LED steering responsive headlights with High Beam Assist and a rear-view camera with Adaptive Guidelines.
For luxury technology, Subaru offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as an auxiliary port so that you can enjoy the ride however you wish. Subaru also offers remote keyless entry with its security system.
Performance
Subaru knows that a powerful vehicle shouldn't be restrained by an unreasonable price tag. That's why the entry level trim sports a 2.5-liter BOXER engine with 182 hp and 176 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is naturally aspirated and is paired with Lineartronic® CVT (continuously variable transmission) which has 8-speed manual shift mode and steering wheel paddle shift control switches. For the Onyx and Wilderness trim levels, you can expect the more powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine making 260 horsepower. When leaving the city to take on tougher terrain, the Subaru Outback also has X-MODE with Hill Descent Control. These features set the Subaru Outback in a category of its own when it comes to performance in the SUV class.
